  Description
FPRDFERMI Physics Requirements DocumentsPRDs are a flow-down from the CDR or a global requirements document if one exists. PRDs typically specify the performance requirements for each FERMI System. These documents cover how a system needs to perform and what criteria the system needs to meet to satisfy the CDR. This is a physics specification generally used as a starting point in the engineering design. An example would be the specification of the required integrated field strength of a magnet and the magnets
FESDFERMI Engineering Specification DocumentsESDs define system and/or component level detailed specifications or parameters and are a flow-down from the PRDs. The ESDs are or can be used as a 'design-to' specification for outside or inside fabrication. Following from the above example an ESD for a magnet would contain specifications regarding the type of iron used, the size of the conductor, the type of construction, solid versus laminations, etc.
FICDFERMI Interface Control DocumentsICDs are interface or boundary documents that define the boundaries between two systems. ICDs can be written to define interfaces between Areas (PC Gun-Linac, Linac-Transfer Lines, etc.) or between systems (Vacuum-Controls, Diagnostics-Controls, etc.). ICDs are use to describe the boundaries or endpoints of one specific system with respect to another system, the physical interface between the two, and the limits of responsibilities for the two. Again, following from the above example an ICD for the Magnet-Support interface would specify the bolt pattern, the bolt size, and even who is responsible for supplying the bolt.
FGRDFERMI Global Requirements DocumentsThe FERMI Global Requirements Documents are for requirements within the FERMI project that are of a global nature, an example of which would be the naming conventions that will used throughout FERMI.
