RAMIRI 2 for planning and managing international research infrastructures

RAMIRI 2- Realising and Managing International Research Infrastructures – is a project funded by the European Commission under FP7. The RAMIRI project aims to deliver a training and networking programme for people involved in planning and managing international research infrastructures within the European Union (and Associated States).

The RAMIRI learning program 2012 consisted of two sessions of three days each: the first session was held in Prague on 12-14 March, while the second was held in Trieste from 18 to 20 June and was attended by about 50 participants from 18 European countries.

The session of June 19 was hosted by Elettra Laboratory: plenary meetings and series of parallel meetings were held, and besides a guided tour of the advanced light sources Elettra and Fermi.

Elettra was, as the edition of October 2011, organizer of the full event: in addition to the logistic arrangements at a downtown hotel where the meetings were held, cultural events were organized, such as visits to the Castle and the Cathedral of San Giusto and the Grotta Gigante cave.
