Reaching the Conference Centre

Within the centre of Trieste, it is most convenient to reach the conference centre by foot. Participants staying in the Galileo Guest House in Grignano (10 km North of Trieste) can use public transport (bus or boat) to reach the conference centre. Grignano is also a nice location for a coffee or a visit the castle of Maramare. Tickets can be bought at "Tabacchi shops", most magazine shops and from machines at the major bus-stops. Bus: Grignano - Trieste

Grignano is at the end-stop of bus line 36, which passes by the railway station (duration: 20-25 minutes). From that point it is a 15 minutes or 1.1 km (0.7 miles) walk to the conference centre. Alternatively it is possible to take a bus (line 30 or 8) from the railway station to the conference centre. Bus line 30 has the end-stop at the railway station and departs opposite from the main entrance of the railway station (South exit). On weekdays this bus departs roughly every 12 minutes from 7:00 until 21:40. Bus line 8 departs from the East exit of the station roughly every 20 minutes from 6:35 until 21:00. The conference centre is at the bus-stop "Riva del Mandracchio", i.e., the first bus-stop after Piazza Unità (the main square of Trieste, on the left-hand side of the bus).

A single-way ticket for the bus is valid on all busses for 60 minutes and costs € 0.90 (€ 7.75 for a booklet of 10).

Boat: Grignano - Trieste

In Grignano the boat departs from the central pear and arrives in Trieste on the molo Pescheria (200 m South of the conference centre). A single way ticket costs € 2.70.
