Elettra Crowd newsletter 2019 n. 2
Welcome to Elettra Crowd!
2019 Spring has come with a bang to the world scientific scenery with the first observation of a black hole. Synchrotron science, though it appears light years away from astrophysics, is also based on measurements regarding electromagnetic radiation. Thus, all within the confines of our beloved experimental halls of Elettra and FERMI, everyday we discover new worlds in miniature. You can find some examples among our latest scientific highlights. We also share with you the news on the successful completion of the Trieste leg of the HERCULES school on synchrotron radiation, which was a fun and extremely valuable occasion to spread the knowledge on x-ray physics. Last but not least, do not forget to take a look at the Wayforlight.eu web site, which is the principal hub to reach more than 300 beamlines in 38 European light source facilities.
We look forward to seeing you with us here at Elettra!
