High resolution gas phase electron spectroscopy at Max lab

Seppo Aksela
University of Oulu, Finland

Abstract
The high performance of the modified SX-700 plane grating monochromator at the Finnish beamline at Max-laboratory in Lund, Sweden, combined with a new electron spectrometer has enabled electron spectroscopy experiments with unprecedent resolution. High resolution photoelectron spectra in the region of the satellite states of rare gases, electron decay spectra of inner shell excited states and angular distibution of the resonant Auger electrons with subnatural widths have been measured.
