Synthesis and magnetism of new Cr(II) organo-phosphonates

Carlo Bellitto
ICMAT-CNR, AdR-Roma

Abstract
Transition metal Cr(II) organo-phosphonates are interesting solids for catalysis, ion-exchange and as intercaled compounds. They are layered materials and the structure consists of an inorganic layer alterned to an organic one. This structure provides the basis for co-operative magnetic interactions at low temperatures when the transition metal ion with unpairedspins are present in the lattice. The seminar deals with a new series of magnetic Cr(II) derivatives.
