Electron-Phonon Superconductivity in graphite intercalation Compounds

Lilia Boeri
MPI-FKF, Stuttgart

Abstract
The discovery of superconductivity in MgB2 (2001)has lead to the discovery of a large number of new superconducting materials containing layers of boron or carbon. In particular, graphite intercalation compounds with alkaline earths (XC6), with Tc as high as 15 K, have attracted considerable interest. In this talk I will present a review of the most important theoretical and experimental results in the field, describing the microscopic mechanisms that determine the e-ph interaction in this class of materials.
