New ARPES analyzer and spin-resolved ARPES at APE


The ARPES-dedicated APE-LE end station has undergone an important upgrade within the NFFA demonstrator and from November 2014 hosts VG-Scienta DA30 electron energy analyzer that operates in deflection mode and allows for detailed k-space mapping at fixed sample geometry. In February 2015 the analyzer will be complemented with two VLEED-based scattering chambers for the determination of spin direction of the photoelectrons, becoming the first facility for spin-resolved ARPES at Elettra.
