OPENING THE BEAMLINE

Before you can use the photons, the beamline needs some time to thermalise. It is good practice to open the beamline half an hour before starting the experiments.

  1. Check the machine status, to know whether the injection procedure has been completed and the beam is given to users.

  2. Select the valve manager in Umeasure beamline controls window.

  3. Leave the "Bendable mirrors to SPELEEM" valve closed, to avoid having too much counts on the microscope detector.

  4. Starting from "Pump section to bendable mirrors" open the valves going from bottom to top. The "shutter" must the last to be opened.

CLOSING THE BEAMLINE

When you finish expeiments and go home, you have to close the beamline, as it is forbidden to leave the beamline open unattended.
  1. Select the valve manager in Umeasure beamline controls window.

  2. Starting from the"Shutter", close the valves manually going from top to bottom.
