SPELEEM ENERGY ANALYZER HV RAMPING

The following conditioning procedure is to be followed only after venting and bake-out.
  1. Insert the analyzer grid ( pos. 10mm on the linear drive)!

  2. All potentiometers in analyzer unit turned to ZERO

  3. HV ramp up to 18kV:
    • from 0-5kV: slowly in one run in 5mins
    • from 5-12kV: 1 kV steps every 15 mins
    • from 12-18kV: 0.5kV steps every 15 mins
In case of breakdowns wait longer.

  4. Having the 18kV you can run the analyzer's electrodes simultanously:
    • Bias 200V steps in 10 mins (4x) = 800V
    • Ret.L (L1) 1.5kV steps in 10 mins (4x) = 6.000V
    • inner L (L2) 1kV steps in 10 mins (4x) = 4.000V
    • Acc, L 500V steps in 10 mins (4x) = 2.000V
Total time about 6 hours.
