Instrumentation

Instrumentation and Detectors Laboratory has greatly contributed to successful measurements at the ELETTRA beamlines developing instrumentation and detectors that cope with the new possibilities offered by third and forth generation synchrotron sources and that are not available on the market.

Thanks to the excellent performances of these devices, several of them are now commercialized by Sincrotrone Trieste and at the moment almost every major Synchrotron Radiation Source in the world uses some instrumentation developed in our laboratory.

Electron/photons Detectors
- Multichannel electron detectors
  - BACH beamline (16 channel mounted on a 150 mm hemispherical analyzer);
  - ESCAMicroscopy beamline (48 channels detector mounted on a 100 mm hemispherical analyzer);
  - SAXS beamline: position-sensitive photon detector for biological and surface physics experiments. This allows structural investigation at high count rates with a time framing on the micro-second scale;
  - SpectroMicroscopy beamline (16 channels detector mounted on a 150 mm hemispherical analyzer);
  - SuperESCA beamline (96 channels detector mounted on a 150 mm double pass hemispherical analyzer);
  - VUV beamline (acquisition electronics and software for a 150 mm hemispherical analyzer);
