The main task of the Radiation Protection Group is to assure radiation safety of personnel working at Elettra in accordance with the law in force.
Advanced safety systems are used to prevent access inside the machines and the beamlines during their operation with the beam. Appropriate shieldings guarantee safety conditions for personnel during research activities.
