A UV/VUV Storage Ring Free-Electron Laser is under commissioning
at ELETTRA. The project, supported by the European Community
in the framework of a TMR-RTD network, involves researchers from
six European laboratories and research institutions.

LASING AT 190 nm: On February 6th, 2001, the European FEL
at ELETTRA lased below 190 nm, the  shortest wavelength obtained
so far with FEL oscillators
