The Library of Sincrotrone Trieste is open to the personnel, users e and guests of the Laboratory.
The personnel responsible for the library may, for control purposes, and until the adoption of a badge-based access system, require an identification document to the personnel whose name is not included in the lists of the laboratory.
The books and the journals may be borrowed by employees and equivalents (collaborators, fellows and resident research associates) of the Sincrotrone Trieste and by the personnel of the Research Groups, registered in the lists drawn up and updated by the Representatives of the Research Groups.
Books
Journals
In case of urgent requests of consultation of loaned material, the library personnel may ask for its return.
It is forbidden to transfer the loan to other people without previously informing the Library personnel who will update the registration and keep trail of the book. In case of lack of this information, the liability for the loan remains on the loaner.
In case of loaner's absence on the loan expiry date, the loaner not capable to give back the book/journal will have to inform by e-mail the library staff, and indicate the name of a person in charge of the material.
Inside the Library are available 1 photocopying machine, 1 paper cutter, 1 bookbinder, 2 PCs with Internet connection and Cd-ROM driver.
For particular photocopying needs, it is possible to get a temporary drawing permission of up to 30 minutes.
The latest review issues are placed on a vertical display that is updated daily.
Once a week the library staff provides a service of articles retrieval in other public libraries (I.C.T.P., SISSA, University of Trieste, etc.).
To have access to this service it is sufficient to send an e-mail (by Wednesday evening), with the biographical data of the requested article.
Articles may be retrieved and loaned also at the "Centre for Documents' Supply" of the British Library, with which a recent agreement has been signed.
To have access to the service it is necessary to send to the Library a supply request signed by the Group Responsible. The library personnel will verify the availability, cost and code to inform the Director and will send the request by fax directly to the British Library.
