Chair: B. Craft (CAMD, USA), W. Busse (HMI, Germany) Computer technology evolves very rapidly when compared to the lifecycle of most Experimental Physics facilities. This situation provides many opportunities for the upgrade or more fundamental re-engineering of the control systems of these facilities, both for improving their performance or to avoid becoming obsolete. A side effect is, of course, the impact on maintenance.
