“Challenges for energy dispersive X-ray absorption Spectroscopy at the ESRF: microsecond time resolution and Megabar pressures”
“Structural study of solid and liquid Rhodium at high temperature by X-ray absorption spectroscopy”. Final mark: ‘110/110 e lode’ Timeline of research and professional activities
Research activitiesThe research carried out over the last 15 years concerns the development and application of x-ray techniques (mainly x-ray absorption spectroscopy) for the study of matter and was carried out at the European Synchrotron in Grenoble (ESRF) and at the Italian Synchrotron in Trieste (Elettra). Her research activity, documented by about 140 scientific publications (h-index 23 according to Scopus), is devoted to two main themes: a. Structural characterization of advanced materials for energy storage b. Structural characterization of matter under extreme pressure and temperature conditions. We can mention two works published on The Journal of Physical Chemistry C (Analytical Detection of Polysulfides in the Presence of Adsorption Additives by Operating X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy IF 4.77) and on Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (Melting of iron determined by X-ray absorption spectroscopy at 100 GPa IF 9.7). She is coordinating the scientific activity of the XAFS beamline staff, as well as supervising fellows within different programs of ICTP (TRIL, STEP), IAEA (OpenSesame) and IUCr (LAAMP). She is engaged in the maintenance and development of the XAFS beamline as well as in the user support during their beamtime (about 30 experiments per year). She was involved in different research projects funded by EU, IAEA and CERIC-ERIC. About 15 invited lectures and talks have been given at universities, research centers and international conferences and symposia. She is part of IXAS (International x-ray absorption Society) as representative of Elettra-Sincrotrone Trieste. She is member and of the XAFS commission of the IUCr as liaison with the international program committee. She is referee for the Canadian Light source and Romanian and Latvian ministry of education, as well as for several international journals (Springer, Elsevier, ACS, AIP, APS). List of publications |
