From 30 May to 3 June, 2016IAEA and Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste organized the Second Research Coordination Meeting (RCM) on "Experiments with Synchrotron Radiation for Modern Environmental and Industrial Applications", held at Elettra premises.

The participants, representing 17 countries, reviewed the activities and progress achieved by the institutions participating in the CRP (Co-ordinated Research Project).

Elettra and IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) have been collaborating for many years: from 2005 the Trieste research centre was included among “IAEA Collaborating Centres” for the purpose of supporting the Agency’s activities in disseminating scientific and technical culture and of promoting international networks among research players worldwide. Since 2012 IAEA is involved as a Partner of the new XRF beamline at Elettra, inaugurated in early October 2014. Forty percent of the beamtime is reserved for research groups from IAEA Member States executing projects in many domains of material, life, environmental science and cultural heritage.
