Upcoming event: SHARPER - European Researchers' Night 2020

SHARPER is the name of one of the seven Italian projects financed by the European Commission for the European Researchers' Night in 2020.

SHARPER stands for SHAring Researchers’ Passions for Evidences and Resilience and aims to engage the public in discovering what it means to be a researcher and the role that researchers play in building society's future by exploring the world based on facts, observations and the ability to adapt and interpret increasingly complex and changing social and cultural contexts.

SHARPER is scheduled on the  27th of November 2020 in the cities of Ancona, Cagliari, Caserta, Catania, L'Aquila, Macerata, Naples, Nuoro, Palermo, Pavia, Perugia, and Trieste to tell about the passion, discoveries and challenges of researchers from all over Europe. The SHARPER project brings the European Researchers' Night back to Trieste and involves all of the city’s institutions and the research centres belonging to the "Trieste City of Knowledge" protocol.

Same as for many other events this year, SHARPER will be held online, meeting with researchers, virtual tours, live streaming events and games. The 17 sustainable Development Goals set by the UN are the theme for this year.

Among the events not to miss:
"Elettra, la macchina di luce di sincrotrone" the virtual tour on Friday 27.11.2020 at 09:00 am. Guided by Marco Zangrando we are going to meet Giuliana Aquilanti, Benedetta Marmiroli and Franco Zanini, reasearcher working on the experimental stations; and
"Raggi X: uno strumento 'antico' fondamentale nelle nuove sfide tecnologiche"
   the talk of Ilaria Carlomagno, researcher at Elettra, presented by Riccardo Cucini of Compagnia Topi di Laboratorio Friday 27.11.2020 at 09:00 pm .
