To understand the possible applications of graphite as a new construction material by studying its fireproof qualities; to understand the possibility of its application in interior decoration of charred wood or to study its resistance to weathering so as not to affect its aesthetic value. These are some of the challenges faced by 13 Italian and Austrian SMEs that joined the inCIMa4 project, which gave them free access to research infrastructures of excellence in materials synthesis and characterisation such as Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, Salzburg University of Applied Science (FHS) and Paris-Lodron Universitat Salzburg.
The main results obtained from the project and potential future developments were discussed on 30 September in the Sala Sancrotti at Area Science Park's Basovizza Campus. Among the Speakers Lisa Vaccari of Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste (Principal Investigator InCIMa4), Andrea Minigher of @AEP Polymers Srl, Federico Collazuol of @Carùs Srl and Susanna Martucci of Alisea Recycled & Reused Objects Design Srl, a Benefit Company. A visit to the laboratories of Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste took place at the end of the meeting.
