Giovanni Comelli appointed Director of CERIC-ERIC Partner Facility Elettra

Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, the CERIC-ERIC Italian Representing Entity, has appointed Professor Giovanni Comelli as the Director of the Italian Partner Facility Elettra in the CERIC-ERIC Consortium.

Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, which hosts the Statutory Seat of CERIC-ERIC, covers an important role in the development of the Consortium and that is why Comelli, in his interplay with the Directors of the other Partner Facilities, will aim also at strengthening the relationships between the CERIC-ERIC partners and Elettra.
Comelli, being the former Vice-President of Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, can give a considerable contribution to the CERIC-ERIC Board of Directors, thanks to his scientific background and to his expertise in international relations, and is the ideal individual to promote a cross-border partnership for excellence.
CERIC-ERIC currently offers seven experimental facilities covering a multidisciplinary and multitechnique area for research projects in nano-level analysis and synthesis of materials and biomaterials. These facilities are open, on a competitive basis, to researchers from all over the world, which are selected solely on the basis of proposal quality.
The CERIC-ERIC facilities are distributed in seven countries: Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Romania and Slovenia. Excellence and innovation, knowledge production and transfer, internationalization and researchers’ training and mobility are at the core of the CERIC-ERIC mission, and the Consortium is open to all researchers and to other interested countries to actively build a thriving research environment.
