Info For Users

The T-ReX Laboratory is a users facility hosting a variety of time-resolved spectroscopies seeded by table-top ultrafast laser sources. These provide complementary photon beam parameters in terms of repetition rate, maximal energy per pulse, photon energy and possibility of wavelength tunability.


The spectroscopies available to users in 2021 include:

  • Time-and-Angle Resolved Photoelectron Spectroscopy (TR-ARPES), implemented in a state-of-the-art endstation, that can be operated by a 250 kHz regenerative amplifier providing 6.2 eV probe and 1.55 eV, 3.14 eV pump options. In addition, a novel setup producing 10.8 eV photon pulses at up to 1 MHz for ARPES and TR-ARPES is available (pump is at 1.2 eV or 2.4 eV). For the new setups, discussion with the facility staff is mandatory;
  • Time-Resolved Optical Spectroscopy (TR-OS) with tunable (1200-2400 nm) or broadband probe (0.8-3 eV ie 500-1500 nm) and 1.55 eV, 3.14 eV or tunable OPA pump options. One setup for dichroic measurements and one for simultaneous reflectivity and transmittivity measurements (operating in the range 400-1000 nm) are also available. Here pump is at 1.55 eV. A cryostat (10-300 K) is available to all setups.

We invite users and collaborators to discuss their proposals with the beamline local contacts well in advance of the submission deadline. This is crucial for a careful assessment of the experiment feasibility and may result in an improvement of the proposal.

Please note: because of the worldwide pandemy, all users are strongly encouraged to discuss in advance with the facility staff in order to optimize the experiments and ensure a positive outcome. Discussion is also required about scheduling times, which are delayed because of the past lockdown and of the new restrictions.
