Present state and future developments of synchrotron and FEL radiation sources at DESY

Edgar Weckert
(DESY, Hamburg, Germany) ABSTRACT DESY`s future perspective is the TESLA projects which is a 33 km long linear electron-positron collider with integrated X-ray free electron laser based on the SASE principle. To study the necessary technology and the SASE effect the so called Tesla Test Facility (TTF) was constructed and is operated at present. DESY has also a long standing tradition in providing synchrotron radiation to a large number of users. At present studies are undertaken on how to improve our present sources of storage ring based synchrotron radiation. The talk will give an overview on all these activities.
