Abstract
Grazing incidence mirrors for X-ray focusing telescopes need to be lightweight and prone to deform. Together with the surface roughness, the mirror deformations cause a degradation of the angular resolution of the optic. Prediction of the angular resolution as a function of the X-ray energy is a fundamental step in order to establish unambiguous manufacturing tolerances. We review the methods used to assess the metrology of the mirrors.
