Abstract
Operational since 2007, the TwinMic beamline is a short undulator beamline that hosts a twin soft X-ray microscopy station integrating the advantages of complementary scanning and full-field imaging modes in a single instrument. The microscope is equipped with versatile imaging modes including absorption or brightfield imaging, and phase contrast. According to the operating energy and the X-ray optics TwinMic can reach sub-100nm spatial resolution. A further X-ray imaging mode, Coherent Diffractive Imaging, can be performed in TwinMic thanks to its quasi coherent beam delivered and thanks to the modularity of the microscope set-up. Recently the first worldwide low energy X-Ray Fluorescence system has been developed and set up in TwinMic allowing simultaneous correlation of the sample morphology with its elemental composition. The potential of the instrument will be demonstrated through recent results in different research fields. Possible upgrades and future perspective will be illustrated as well.
